Progress

	Liu Bei starts here, but it is too crowded in the north.
	It is best to migrate to the south to develop in peace.
	Progress after 6 years. (I overwrote the intermediate saves!) The other masters had not been idling too. Yuan Shu was driven to the north by Liu Biao.
	Recruiting a governer is risky. Let's hope nobody attacks him while you move him slowly to your territory. Note that one (former) general refused to join me. Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu had been eliminated.
	Expanding northwards on the west side. I only had one attack force at this point and my east was undefended.
	I put together a second-tier attack force on my east. I have three main attack forces, in states 23, 36 and 40. My first-tier attack force ended up stuck in state 23 for over 3 years! Liu Yan had been eliminated.
	Wang Lang was eliminated after a relentless pursue by Tao Qian.
	I started my expansion to the east. I had to leave gaps due to lack of generals. Liu Biao was trapped in state 34.
	Killed Liu Biao and eliminated Liu Yao. Liu Biao's faction continued to live on, though.
	Left a few states due to lack of resources. I didn't have sufficient rice to increase the peasants' loyalty. Eliminated Sun Ce and Tao Qian. I now rule all the southern states.
	Expanded northwards from the east side as Kong Rong was the weakest master.
	About to fight on two fronts.
	Fighting on two fronts. Had taken state 21 and 12. (State 7 defected.)
	Wiped out Liu Biao's faction in one go.
	Went after Cao Cao.
	Captured most of the northern states, including the capital, which was defended by Lu Bu and Jia Xu.
	Eliminated Dong Zhuo.
	Eliminated Gongsun Zan and Cao Cao.
	Ma Teng was a tough fight. Sent one general to state 26 to cut off his retreat. State 22 was a tough fight as there were 15 generals.
	Finally conquered the whole of China!
	It took 14 years. (About 2 weeks in real life.)

Notes

Each state is only allowed to execute one command per month. This is extremely restrictive in the beginning. The first thing to do is to spread out to several states to get more actions per month.

I spent too much time developing the southern states. I should have stopped when the land value exceeded 100. (I only considered it done at 150.)

I did not buy rice in the first few years. It hindered my expansion as I had to wait for July for the rice to come in.

I did not know that empty states will retain the gold, rice and peasants' loyalty initially. Otherwise, I would have left more empty states.

It seems like the land value will increase automatically for empty states.
