R1 DVD #2 (ep 9, 17:29)

The EE (Edge Enhancement) is readily visible on the R1. It is very obvious in high contrast outlines. When it happens on large features, it is merely distracting.

R2 DVD #3 (ep 9; 01:05:33 from start)

The R2 has no apparent EE, and the R1 looks much softer compared to it (I wouldn't call the R2 sharp, however). However, it is much more grainy. In general, I dislike grain not because it is distracting, but that it wastes bits.

Notice that the R1 is slightly zoomed in compared to the R2.
